Purpose

The drill is designed to boost players' agility and coordination while fostering a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

Setup

  1. Create a rectangular zone approximately 25 yards long and 30 yards wide.
  2. Adjust dimensions based on age and skill levels of participants.
  3. Line up all players on one of the short ends, leaving them without a ball.
  4. Position the coach(s) in the middle of the area with multiple soccer balls.

How To Play

  • At the coach's cue, players dash toward the opposite end while avoiding soccer balls kicked by the coaches.
  • Coaches attempt to hit players below the knee with the balls.
  • If a player is struck, they retrieve the balls and assist the coach in targeting remaining players.
  • The last player standing without being hit wins the game!

Coaching Points

  • Stress the importance of enjoying the activity while enhancing their skills.
  • Encourage players to remain vigilant and sprint with purpose.
  • Instruct players to keep their heads up to better evade incoming shots.
