Title
Four Goal Frenzy
Purpose
The drill focuses on enhancing players' abilities in one-on-one and small-team situations, promoting teamwork and quick tactical decisions.
Setup
- Split the participants into two equal teams.
- Assign one team contrasting uniforms for differentiation.
- Mark out a rectangular area of 35 yards long and 20 yards wide.
- Set up four small goals using cones, flags, or Pugg goals along the longer boundaries of the area.
- Ensure one team has possession of all soccer balls at the start.
How To Play
- The game starts with players on one side passing the ball to the other team.
- The receiving team will then dribble towards either of their two designated goals while the original team attempts to defend.
- Players can choose to shoot at any goal in front of them to score.
- Ensure that pairs stay matched during one-on-one situations.
- Switch the team in possession of the balls every 5-7 minutes to keep the energy and engagement levels high.
Coaching Points
- Encourage players to explore various dribbling techniques and maintain an attacking mindset.
- Instruct defenders to remain patient and focused while applying pressure to the attacker.
- Stress the need for quick communication and support between teammates.
