Obstacle Dribble Race - The drill aims to enhance players' agility and ball control while they engage in competitive scenarios, helping to improve their dribbling skills.

Setup

  1. Mark out a 30x30 yard grid.
  2. Place cones and poles randomly throughout the grid as obstacles.
  3. Organize players into four teams and assign each to a corner of the grid.
  4. Ensure each team has one soccer ball to start.

How To Play

  • At the coach's signal, the first player from each team starts dribbling through the obstacles while avoiding collisions with other players.
  • After successfully navigating the grid, they sprint to the opposite side and pass the ball to the next teammate waiting in line.
  • After a few rounds, combine two teams to create competition, requiring players to race through the grid, circle a specified cone on the far side, and return to their team.
  • The first team to finish all their members and sit down wins the round.

Coaching Points

  • Develop players' awareness of their surroundings while dribbling.
  • Encourage close ball control in tight situations.
  • Maintain a balance between speed and precision when maneuvering through obstacles.
