Precision Hit Duel - The drill aims to enhance players' passing precision and control while fostering competitive spirit through a scoring system.

Setup

  1. Create a square grid measuring 50x50 yards using cones.
  2. Divide players into pairs, assigning one ball per player.
  3. Position pairs at varying distances across the grid.

How To Play

  • One player passes their ball forward into the grid.
  • The second player aims to hit the first player's stationary ball with their kick.
  • If the second player fails to hit, the first player attempts to strike the second player's ball from its stopping point.
  • Successful hits earn points; the goal is to be the first to reach 5 points.
  • After a few rounds, switch partners and vary foot techniques used for passing.

Coaching Points

  • Ensure players use the appropriate foot part (inside, outside, laces) when passing.
  • Emphasize follow-through for increased accuracy and distance.
  • Teach players to judge the weight of their pass based on distance to the target.
  • Urge players to keep their heads up to better locate the target.
