Title
Quick Passing Chain Reaction
Purpose
To enhance players' ability to execute sharp, precise 1-2 passes while encouraging constant movement off the ball to create space.
Setup
- Set up a 20 x 25-yard grid using cones to mark four numbered corners.
- Place one player each at three corners (2, 3, 4), leaving corner 1 with the remaining players lining up.
- The first player at cone A starts with the ball.
- Use one ball to begin the drill.
How To Play
- Player 1 passes to Player 2 and runs towards them.
- Player 2 returns the ball to Player 1 with a one-touch pass, then sprints towards Player 3.
- Player 1 sends a pass to Player 3, who then passes into Player 2’s run as Player 3 moves around cone 3 toward 4.
- Player 2 sends a long ball to Player 4, who repeats the cycle by passing into Player 3's run.
- The rotation continues, with players always moving after each pass.
Coaching Points
- Focus on crisp, one-touch passing to keep the flow of the drill.
- Ensure players stay alert and communicate continuously.
- Encourage fast, controlled passing with good timing.
- Movement off the ball should be purposeful and quick.
