Tag and Dribble Dash
Purpose
This drill is designed to enhance players' dribbling skills, spatial awareness, and reaction time through a fun and interactive game format.
Setup
- Create a square grid approximately 20x20 yards using cones, adjusting dimensions for the number of participants.
- Allocate one soccer ball per player.
- Instruct players to position themselves randomly within the grid.
How To Play
- Players move around the grid while dribbling their soccer balls, aiming to stay untagged by opponents.
- A player can tag another by making contact below the knee, earning a point for each successful tag.
- Tagged players lose one point from their score.
- The objective is to be the first to accumulate five points through skillful evasion and tagging.
- Play multiple rounds, with time limits adjusted to increase intensity.
Coaching Points
- Maintain high energy levels and keep players engaged throughout the drill.
- Promote head-up dribbling to improve awareness and decision-making.
